Is interior design a luxury?

Yes, it is

- considering the fact that it's possible to live and work in a space that is not as pleasant and practical as it could be. That is, it's possible to have a dinner in a restaurant that has not been refurbished for a several decades. That is, it's possible to go shopping in a store in which items aren't presented in a best possible way.

No, it is not

- since most of our lives we spend at home and at work, and it's important for us to spend it in a space that is both aesthetically harmonious and functional. No, it isn't – because the time we have left for pleasure, we want to spend in cosy restaurants, cafés, shops and hotels – where food and drink seem to be more delicious, where we enjoy our time while buying even just a trifle.

Interior design is a cost effective luxury.
